O’Reilly NASCAR Series Tries Again Saturday
On The Salina Highbanks
May 26, 2026
Staff Report
After another rainout last week that also wiped out the 8th Annual Joe Duvall's Funkadelic Dirt Track & Honky Tonk Extravaganza modified special (which has been rescheduled to July 18th), the O’Reilly NASCAR regional racing series gets back at it at the Salina Highbanks Speedway Saturday. After the first 8 bookings of racing action at the Highbanks, the score to date is good ole Mother Nature four, Salina Highbanks four.
The O’Reilly / NASCAR racing divisions you will once again see compete are:
Dawson Roofing B-mods
Ameri-Flex Hose factory stocks
S&J Plumbing pure stocks
Colvin Aircraft front and rear wheel drive trophy cars
With only four events in the books, except for the dual classes of trophy cars as they were off on April 11th, it means all the point standings remain close at hand. Here is a look at the top spots in each division:
B-Mods: Mitch Keeter has a 51 point lead over both Dylan Cantwell and Justin Shoemaker.
Factory Stocks: Cantwell runs this too and leads by only 3 markers over Jeran Frailey.
Pure Stocks: Steve Freeman in only 6 points ahead of Jess Thrash.
Rear Wheel Drive Trophy Cars: William Avila is 9 points up on Robert Lackey.
Front Wheel Drive Trophy Cars: Austin Gammill comes in 11 up on Joshua Deason.
IT’S COMING ———
Just three weeks from this weekend, the Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) super dirt late models are coming for the Freedom Tour event! It will be the first time in five seasons MLRA will take on the Highbanks. As previously, the Freedom Tour will once again be a 2-day event with racing on Friday the 19th and Saturday the 20th. In 2021, it was Tony Jackson and Jesse Stovall taking victory laurels with the MLRA speed demons. Make certain to circle this one on your calendar!!!
Till then, it’s O’Reilly NASCAR racing entertainment this weekend so come on out for a great time. The last event only cost 10 cents a car ($10 ticket for 93 cars) to watch exciting door to door action. Don’t forget to visit the Finishline Restaurant on the upper level for some awesome meals like no other can offer. It’s soooooo good!
