Salina Highbanks Speedway

Season Opener Feature Winners

March 26, 2016 ~The 2016 season opener for the Highbanks kicked off last weekend March 26th. 105 car filled up the four main classes that will be running for NASCAR Whelen All American points. Those classes are The Ameriflex Hose A Modifieds, Ameriflex Hose B Modifieds, Grand Nationals and Pure Stock. The speedway is currently under going construction which made it a little hard on the girls in the concession stand. It was a packed house and we do appreciate all the fans bearing with us till we get everything finished. More about all of that in a later story. Back to racing!

Thomas Tillison Jr. out of Wellston, Oklahoma took home the Modified A feature win starting from the sixth starting spot. Fellow competitor Jeremy Rasmussen fought a furious battle with Tillison for the top spot which went on for several laps splitting lap cars with some close calls.

Jeff Metcalf from Siloam Springs Ar. won his first ever B Mod main event. Metcalf had moved up from the Grand National class where he took top honors as last years Track Champion.

Gentry Ar. driver Darin Rigney drove off with the Grand National A feature win and Pure Stock driver Kevin Lacy started where he stopped last year with his winning style. More driver news and interviews will be post along with other track news and events that are up coming.
