Shive takes first win in World of Outlaws co-headliner

A thrilling finish in the S&J Plumbing Pure Stock A-Main at the Twister Showdown was all for not after the top two drivers were found illegal in post-race tech inspection. Jordon Shive took the lead on lap two from Paul Dilbeck and led until the final half a lap when a three-wide finish resulted in what looked to be JD Jackson’s first win of the season until he was disqualified for running an aluminum intake on a claim engine. Nathan Campbell also passed Shive on the final lap only to be denied in the tech barn for utilizing illegal tires. These developments gave Shive, who dominated the majority of the race, his first career win worth $400. Steve Freeman rallied from eighth to second to take over the points lead in the division. Tray Roberts started seventh and finished third, pole-sitter Paul Dilbeck maintained fourth, and Billy Arnold rounded out the top five.
